Does EcoWasher® replace laundry detergent?

Yes. EcoWasher® is made to wash without laundry detergent and without hot water. Reviewers describe skipping detergent, fabric softener, and bleach on everyday loads. A few still treat extra-heavy greasy work clothes with a stain stick or detergent — that is their extra step.

Will it work with my current washer?

It attaches to your existing washing machine. Source install time is about 10 minutes / installs in minutes. The source pages do not publish a washer-brand compatibility chart, so we do not invent one.

Is it lab tested?

Independent lab testing verifies that EcoWasher® removes up to 100% of laundry-spread bacteria in just 5 minutes without the use of any toxic chemicals or bleach products.*

What’s the difference between SE and Pro?

EcoWasher® SE (SKU EW-SE) is the latest model: $397 (regular $597), 15 x 8 x 3 inches, digital LCD touch-control, stainless steel auxiliary hose. EcoWasher® Pro (SKU EW-PRO2) is the original laundry system: $337 (regular $397), 16.5" x 8" x 6.5", no LCD or sprayer listed. Same listed power and ozone range. Same 1 Year warranty (Registration Required).

Do I need hot water?

No. Set the washer to cold. No hot water required.

Does SE work with well water or hard water?

SE source list: “Works with City and Hard/Well Water*.” The page does not print a footnote for that asterisk. Pro does not list this line, so we do not claim it for Pro.

Is there a spray hose?

Yes on EcoWasher® SE (stainless steel auxiliary hose / multi-use utility hose and sprayer). Not listed for EcoWasher® Pro.

What’s in the SE box?
